Irrlichter

07.05.2026 – 00:00
Moorbauer, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

TAAT members Pichaya Puapoomcharoen and Gert-Jan Stam participate in the “Irrlichter”project, initiated by journalist Swantje Furtak, curator Franziska Bax, materials scientist Charlett Wenig, and the Moorbauer community. Other collaborators include the Moortheater, the web developer Ferdinand Sorg and TAAT-artist Anna Luz Pueyo.

“Irrlichter” aims to create practical and poetic ways into the peatland on the premise of the Moorbauer — a restaurant and cultural venue firmly rooted locally, as well as in the German discourse on peatland rewetting. From April to October 2026, we will cut and weave a temporary path through the reeds using local biomass. As we build the path together with visitors, groups from the region, and invited guests, we offer impulses through events: We will collaborate with the Moortheater, learn about gas, dance, and collectively read and write. In doing so, we cultivate a sense of soft coexistence and explore what forms of engagement and stewartship lie between extensive use and strict protection.
