Tracing Gestures for Interdependence

Workshop by Breg Horemans

How to use drawing as a way to question and train our ’gestures of making’?

Processes and protocols of making can be either very intuitive (in close dialogue with the material resource), or highly constrained by industrially directed protocols. This workshop zooms in and out of the gestures of our own making, in order to grow awareness of relationships of interdependence with material resources and their landscape. Through drawing we explore reciprocal relationships with the more-than-human entities, formerly called ‘material resources’. Together we work towards a performative gathering of words and material weavings to map the landscape that binds our making together.
